I have just booked to go on the above trip as a Solo traveller so would be interested in chatting and getting to know any fellow travellers before we depart.  Drop me a line if you're heading for Northern Indian this Christmast!

Hi - I've just booked on this (got the last place!). I've been been on group trips before but always with friends so this is my first time solo. Hope we see some tigers!

I'm another solo traveller on this trip, not been to India before so can't wait to take it all in.  Was on the Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand trip last xmas and had a great time.  I hope we see tigers too!

I started to think that I wasn't going to hear from anyone so it was a relief to log-on and see two messages - nice to meet you two!  I've done the Vietnam trip as well with but it was a friend so, like Mike, this will be my first trip as a solo traveller and I am a little nervous but excited at the same time.   I have slowly been buying bits and pieces but to be honest I'm not sure what to pick in terms of clothes as the trip notes suggest the weather would be varied and the reviews suggest is will be really cold at times - what are you tow planning?  Write soon

I haven't made any preparations so far (or even read the trip notes properly) - I didn't see past the tiger safari and Taj Mahal at Christmas bits. Guess I'd better do a bit of research, especially now you've said it might be really cold!

Good to hear from you again, Mike. You sound laid back about it all which is calming. Only 4 weeks to go today before we meet for our whirlwind adventure!!! I've checked the notes and I believe we will be spending Christmas Day searching for tigers which is quite exciting - just how different I needed it to be!!!! Let me know what you think about packing once you do check the trip notes. I've tried to add my photo so you can recognise me at the airport or on the plane but I can't seem to make it been seen on anything other than my profile but I'll keep trying. Where snouts do you both live?

I'm having exactly the same problem with deciding what kind of gear to take; sounds like it will be both cold and warm which is a bit of a nitemare in terms of packing as little as possible.  I'm going to try and have a look at a few more trip details this week so I can figure it all out.  Last year I recognised other people from my trip from the pics in here so it is a really good idea to add them so we can keep a look out for each other.

Disorganised more like (though I have got my visa)! I read a bit about Delhi in a friend's guide book at the weekend, the bit that stood out was the "astonishingly cold" in December line. Could be tricky this one. I'm in Manchester, I got the last place and the group flights were full, so I'm flying out with Jet Airways but thankfully they're round about the same times as the Kingfisher flights.

I've finally managed to upload my picture so hopefully we will recognise each other at the airport.  I think layers are the way to go but it probably means still needing to pack quite a bit - I might need to do a bit of shopping this weekend if I can manage it after my Christmas party!  I was thinking, but yet to buy, of taking a micro sleeping bag as I don't fancy getting cold on the sleeper trains but I don't know whether I'm getting a bit carried away!  I'm based in Peterborough but sometimes work in London so I am flying out of Heathrow.  Just over 3 weeks to go now...
