Look out for the ‘Recommended Adventure Holiday’ logo (right). This indicates that these trips have been recommended by the DofE. They are physically active and contain elements of DofE programmes that will get the whole family fitter, teach you all new skills and provide lifelong memories and experiences.
If you are currently involved with The Duke of Edinburgh's Award you will be eligible for a 5% discount off any Exodus holiday. This applies to all young people currently doing their own DofE programme, to the parents of these young people and to those who are DofE Leaders or volunteers. Please see our dedicated page for full details of this offer.
If you are looking for a challenge to share with your older children we have eight trips with itineraries aimed specifically at travel for you and your teenager. All of these are now officially recommended by The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, in recognition of the broad range of itineraries visiting more remote destinations and offering challenging activities.
Teenagers have been the fastest growing age group exploring the world on our Family Adventures. If you are looking for a challenge to share with your older children we now have seven trips with itineraries aimed specifically at travel for you and your teenager. Teenage Adventures offer a broad range of itineraries visiting more remote destinations and more challenging activities. Minimum age from 11.
Often more adventurous than younger families but equally demanding, teenagers and their families will find these itineraries active, offering truly memorable experiences as well as a challenge. For keen walkers you can trek into the heart of the Everest region, up to the magical ruins at Machu Picchu or to the top of North Africa's highest mountain, Toubkal in Morocco. For wildlife lovers there is the once in a lifetime opportunity to come face-to-face with the endangered mountain gorillas in Rwanda, or go snorkelling in the Red Sea which teems with spectacular sea life.
'You'd have to ask our teenage son what he really enjoyed most because he would never deign to tell us directly - but he was overheard telling someone it was his best holiday, ever.' Mr N Crombie - from his family holiday to Turkey
Recommended Teenage Departures
Our Family Group holidays usually cater for children from 5 years old. However, experience tells us that children tend to prefer mixing with their own age groups, especially teenagers. That’s why we’ve designated certain departures on our group trips as particularly recommended for teenagers. Whilst we don't restrict younger kids from joining these holidays, the 'recommended for teenagers' departures means there are likely to be other teenagers to share the experience with. Please look out for the Recommended Teenage Departure icon when visiting the Family holiday pages or ask a member of our sales team for more information.
