If your image of Spain includes beaches swarming with tourists or views of built up coastlines then you have yet to experience Exodus' impression of Spain. Try these images instead - walking through colourful landscapes without seeing another soul; abseiling down natural canyons with views of spectacular waterfalls; journeying through geologically and historically fascinating caves and mixing with the locals when staying at a peaceful, isolated Andalucian farmhouse. The way to change your opinion of Spain and try living in one of these images is to book onto an Exodus active holiday in Spain!

A taste of true adventure. Go beyond the main highlights of Namibia for a truly amazing safari and cultural experience. North of the Huab River lies Northern Damaraland, a sparsely populated area with plenty of wildlife, and one of the best places to see black rhino. Further north still is Kaokoveld, maybe one of the last areas that can be described as authentically wild and remote. This arid landscape is home to the rare desert elephant, which has adapted to survive in the harsh conditions alongside the semi-nomadic Himba tribes, whose traditional pastoral life provides an amazing insight into this challenging environment. The rewarding 'Namibia Wilderness 4WD Explorer' trip does not miss out any of Namibia's other jewels, from Etosha National Park to the sand dunes of Sossusvlei in the south.

Wilderness and adventure are the key elements of a visit to Finland with its wide, open expanses of rolling tundra interspersed with clusters of snow-laden forest and deep, frozen lakes and rivers. From the cosy warmth of your cabin or hotel, you can explore this picture postcard winter experience by foot, ski, snowshoe, snow scooter or even leading a team of huskies along the many prepared trails, paths or roads that criss-cross the countryside. Being so far north, temperatures in winter can be pretty cold, so we recommend taking plenty of thermal underwear, warm socks, hat and gloves and warm winter outwear for the activities (when not provided by the local operator). Those who visit Finland often fall in love with its stark beauty, returning again and again to explore the wild region further.

The Moonstone Trek can be done instead of the standard 4-day Inca Trail. It is a little higher and longer than the standard route and as such we have given it a 'C' grade - challenging. It doesn't require any permits and it uses horses rather than human porters, meaning there is no weight restriction. The trek's real strengths are its isolation (most groups won't encounter any other tourists), rarely visited ruins and far superior mountain views. It is a great introduction to real high Andean trekking.
This alternative Inca Trail can be substituted for the classic Inca Trail at no extra cost on the following trips:

When most people think of Iceland, the first thing that springs to mind is a volcanic landscape strewn with craters, rocks and hot springs. This impression is not far from the truth, but is only the tip of what Iceland has to offer. Geologically, Iceland is still a country in development. Sitting on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and with regular geological and volcanic activity, it makes an exciting touring and walking destination for those with an interest in seeing a country still growing and shaping itself in front of your eyes.

Ever since the Iron Curtain crashed down, Central and Eastern Europe has redrawn the tourist map. Where Prague and Budapest led the way, many other cities and countries have followed in showing off their rich cultural heritage. Twenty nations recently enamoured Michael Palin - TV traveller extraordinaire - during his sevenshow discovery. It reminds us what we've known for years; we just keep finding more to love about this region!

Jordan is an easy country to fall in love with for many reasons. The unforgettably impressive site of Petra, wild and beautiful desert scenery, the generosity of the Bedouin people - all these aspects make this a destination that should feature at the top of any travel wish list. There is also the added bonus of short flight times from the UK and a generally warm, dry climate. Jordan is a pleasure to visit at any time of year.

Sri Lanka's temples, ancient capitals and beaches rightly demand the attention of any visitor here. But Sri Lanka is one of those places where joining the dots - moving from site to site - is immensely satisfying in itself. The patchwork of greens, from dark hills to the fluorescent paddies, keep your eyes glued to the scenery, whether you're on four wheels, two wheels or two feet.
