I have travelled with Exodus several times to adventurous places. This trip was not well constructed, with much (almost half) wasted time. One of the hotels was beyond dire and another treated us very badly indeed. The Hotel Tragos in Trogir was superb and highly recommended. The group was pleasant and the leader was excellent. However, I feel I could have easily organised this trip myself much better and much cheaper. This begs the question why it is constructed this way? Croatia is a glorious country and this should not put you off going, but there are better ways of doing it.
Walking on the Island of Korcula, which is lovely out of the main town. However, the old town has turned into Ibiza!
The old town of Dubrovnik is amazing. Just wander and get lost in the old streets. It is very crowded, but don't let that put you off.
Excellent. She was amazing. It wasn't the most cohesive group we have encountered and the holiday did have problems. However, she sorted them all with humour and patience. Her knowledge was superb.
Organise it yourself!
Croatia is a beautiful country, stunning scenery and lovely, friendly people.
Dubrovnik was amazing
He was a genuinely nice guy, but... The information on what was happening the next day was sparce, late in the day and inconsistent. He also shared little knowledge of Croatia's history and culture. In comparison to the many other exodus trips I've been on, it felt as though we had an escort on a would-be 18-30 trip.
You do need good walking shoes for the walk on Korcula.
The Prosek is lovely!
A tour guide in Split would have been nice as we ended up wandering slightly aimlessly and feels as though missed out in some of the history of the country.
It's a lovely country and would recommend it to anyone.
A lovely week in Croatia, with excellent scenery and great company.
Seeing Dubrovnik from the view reached by going by cable car to the top of mountain - beautiful. It made it all the more spectacular as it took us three tries to go up the cable car due to a thunder and rain storm - definitely worth the wait and patience!
Take jelly shoes if you want to swim - you can buy these quite cheaply when you are in Croatia when you're at a coastal location. Remember your sunscream!
In recent years Croatia has regained its place as a popular tourist destination with visitor levels nearly as high as before the Balkan conflict. Unfortunately a large number of hotels were damaged beyond repair either directly or indirectly during those years and demand now heavily outstrips supply. As a result hotel prices are high and Croatia is not the cheap destination some might expect.
Hotels tend to be more workmanlike than luxurious with communist era style architecture and facilities. Top end hotels are available but charge top end prices and are not used on this trip.
