This was a very special journey to an extraordinary place. I had booked the trip two years ahead and nearly died of anticipation, but it was everything I wanted it to be. The access to the wildlife was second to none; the organization onboard was superb; the number of landings achieved was more than I hoped possible; and walking in the footsteps of my explorer heroes was terribly moving. And to cap it all, the photographic experience was truly exceptional.

ANNAPURNA CIRCUIT

Not having three weeks, I did the Mini Annapurna Circuit option. It was fabulous - still included the pass, the figurative and literal high point for most of us! Scenery changed every day, from green rice paddies to fiery autumnal colours and of course, snowy summits all around - I could never get bored of those views. Even our guides who'd done the trek so many times were still taking photos the whole way round like the rest of us!

This trip was everything I had expected in terms of charismatic wildlife in a pristine, remote environment. What exceeded my expectations was the level of expert photographic input from Paul Goldstein and Mark Carwardine, which was truly inspirational.

PHOTOGRAPHIC SAFARI

A safari like no other…. If you want to feel like you have been beamed in to a David Attenborough documentary, together with a small group of like-minded wildlife and photography enthusiasts for company, then this is the trip for you. Advice and daily slide shows from trip leader Paul along with tips and ideas from fellow travellers were both inspiring and informative. The Kicheche camp was wonderful, with its wild setting, excellent service, food and facilities. The wildlife was incredible and as it will always vary, I can only tell you that there will be many memorable moments and a favourite early in the week will be overtaken by another by the end of the trip. We will be back.

IMPERIAL CITIES & COAST

This trip far exceeded my expectations. Morocco is a fantastic place to visit and I can't believe I left it this long to visit! Seeing the more cultural cities of Fez and Casablanca to the bohemian Essaouira really provides an excellent introduction to the country.
