This was a father and son holiday to celebrate a major birthday. I had a great time, Uganda, the wildlife and the scenery were stunning. The drivers/guides were excellent. However, the accomodation left quite a lot to be desired.  When I booked this trip it was a Premium trip and I had wanted the luxury of good lodges. I did know before I went that the trip had been downgraded, but had been told that most of it was still comfortable hotels. However, some of the alternative accomodation that was used was unsatisfactory and below an accepatble standard.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: DOBBIACO

Lovely very comfortable hotel run by a family creating a friendly, home like atmosphere. Sarah and Rita are also   fun and helpful - making me (a single traveller) wanting to go back year after year. Great group company, endless trails, wonderful scenery and a five course evening meal to finish the day off. Just great!

CUBA: LA ISLA GRANDE

First few days we thought we had booked the wrong holiday as it was not meeting our expectations at all, but after staying at the hotel on the beach at Magauna things improved greatly. After a lot of hype Baracoa was a dissappointment but we really loved Bayamo, Trinidad, Cienfuegos and obviously Havana. As before with Exodus it was the side trips that really stick in the mind; swimming down a steep rock gorge to a waterfall and bat cave, snorkelling on a coral reef, walking down the main street at Bayamo at night and seeing the locals socialising (on a Wednesday night!!), the beach barbecure under a moonless impossibly starry sky at Maguana, meeting the poet who runs the restaurant at Baracoa and having the sugar cane and rum cocktail! and finally the canoe trip and forest walk between Maguana and Baracoa.

SIERRA DE AITANA TREK

Great holiday. Came home completely relaxed and feeling fit. Good solid challenging (for me) walks meant every day felt like an achievement. And the food was fantastic.

SNOWSHOEING IN BOSNIA

We had a great holiday - in spite of the extreme weather conditions which meant that the itinerary had to be re-scheduled somewhat - I've never seen quite so much snow! The countryside was beautiful, the Bosnian people seem warm and friendly and with so much unknown history and culture, it was an extremely interesting place to visit.

WILDLIFE & WILDERNESS OF ETHIOPIA

A really great trip to a beautiful country: the variety of frequency of birds was astonishing, and the mammal life was also fantastic. As Exodus warn, the mammal viewing in Ethiopia is not like being in Kenya or Tanzania, but in my view it was better: there was plenty to see, including some fantastic sightings of hippo and Ethiopian Wolf, and it felt like we were the only people there.
