HIGHLIGHTS OF TURKEY

A very interesting trip, especially for those with a fascination for anciant sites as it covers quite a few. Extensive travelling interspered with stops of interest so cannot really be considered "leisurely" in the fact that there isn't very much actual free time. However, gives a good general overview of Turkey and its quite complicated history.

ANNAPURNA CIRCUIT

23 days around Annapurna, tough going with some long physical days. You start in sub-tropical with rice paddy fields and bamboo forests complete with monkeys, very hot and sweaty. Next comes the alpine regions followed by the mountain areas. After the Thorong La pass you spend two days crossing desert areas and then back down through the the alpine and sub-tropical zones on a different river valley.

HIGHLIGHTS OF NORTHERN INDIA

First a warning, this is not a relaxing holiday, you are 'on the go' constantly and the transfers can be an adventure in themselves due to the Indian infrastructure!Overall, an experience of a lifetime and a fantastic introduction to India, highly recommended.

VENEZUELA: THE LOST WORLD & ANGEL FALLS

After quickly leaving Caracas, we explored a country of amazing waterfalls, vast almost empty savannah and stunning mountains rising with shear faced cliffs almost 1000m tall with often only a single way to reach their summits. These summits were almost flat rocky moonscapes with their own ecosystems having 70percent of plants not fund elsewhere, crystal valleys and glorious views over surrounding countries. And best of all few other tourists.

EVEREST BASE CAMP

This trip was absolutely amazing.  If you are thinking about doing it, then go for it.  But, be warned it is also extremely tough.  Some of the days are long and the altitude can really get to you.  All that said though, reaching base camp is definately worth the effort.  Nepal is an amazing country and home to some absolutely stunning scenery.  Kathmandu is a crazy, bustling city that's so full of life and culture.  Definately worth the visit, you will not be disappointed!
