Gorillas & Masai Mara

GORILLAS & MASAI MARA

4
Two highlights of the trip, the masi Mara and the gorillas. Both equally amazing in their own rights. Before we booked we read lots of different views about which is the best way round to do this trip. We did Kigali to Nairobi and found the experience amazing, it would have been nice to spend the last night in a hotel but as it worked out camping was no hardship and it meant as a group we were together reflecting on the Holiday more than we would have been had we been in a hotel room which was lovely. Also our lasting memory was the Masai Mara rather than finishing with Kigali and the genocide museum. The only downside to the reverse itinerary for me personally was that you see the gorillas so early on and are then so busy thereis little time to reflect upon the experience.

This was a great holiday it was the first time I had gone on a guided walking holiday and my reservations about walking with people I didn't know and that they may walk a lot faster or slower soon disappeared as we were split up into two groups and the guides knowledge of the trip was very good

A little niave perhaps at just what challenge lay ahead for us. The climb itself was worthy of the effort although it was tougher than I thought. Spectacular views across the high Atlas and beyond.

We did the moonstone trek, amazing because we saw no other hikers for 4 days. The only people were saw were locals working the land and grazing animals........seriously consider doing this over the standard trek, also means you avoid the 6 hrs of steps!!!

Gorgeous Spanish landscapes, ancient villages, beautiful roads with no one on them. We were in mountains so the hill rides were really enjoyable and got your heart racing. We had a lovely helpful leader who never got lost.

This was an amazing trip. The friendships, the teamwork, the mountain scenery, the sense of achievement on reaching the summit. Absolutely amazing.
