TRAILS OF THE TURQUOISE COAST

My first Exodus trip and I had a superb time with the small group I was with. The scerery was sensational, with cedar trees, a dusting of snow on some of the surrounding mountains and breathtaking terrain with thrilling rides downhill.

CYCLE CILENTO & AMALFI

This was my first cycling holiday and I wasn't disappointed. The hills were sometimes daunting but it was a buzz when I got to the top. Hotels were fine, although the food was not good in the first one. Cilento is chilled out biking with hills and the Amalfi coast is more dramatic (scenery and traffic!- someone did describe it as millionaire's cycling). I really enjoyed the trip, I was pleased with Exodus, but the main thing was we were fortunate enough to have a fab group dynamic. If I was marking that alone, I'd give it five stars!

HIGHLIGHTS OF NORTHERN INDIA

This was a fantastic trip and a great introduction to India.  They were 10 very busy but enjoyable days and we were lucky enough to have a great group leader, with Gopal.  I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone.

SIERRA DE AITANA TREK

Not a single hour went past without a "wow" moment.  Stunning landscapes, great accommodation, lovely people.   However, I would rate this more as a C grade - the walks were long and steep.

This was a very enjoyable holiday.  The balance between the time spent in Marrakech and the time spent walking in the Central Atlas mountains was exactly right.  The showers and toilets were pretty basic in the mountain gite but at least we had them!  We also had proper beds in proper rooms, so we didn't rough it too much!  The Berbers are a lovely people and so is the scenery.  The food was extremely good - lots of fresh salad, vegetables and fruit and the tagines were beautifully cooked.  You get lots of refreshing mint tea too. The walks are graded leisurely to moderate but I'd put them more at the moderate end.  They get a bit steeper each day but well worth a bit of effort.  You have an opportunity to buy bottled water before you get to the mountains so you don't need water purification tablets.  Our group of 7 bonded well and the guides are friendly and anxious to please.  I learned a few words of Arabic and a great time was had by all. I was given slightly confusing information before I went about needing kit bags for the mules to carry our stuff up to the gite.  You don't need kit bags if you've got your own rucksacks and the minibus takes you and your luggage all the way to the gite - mules are not used on this trip.  Marrakech is fascinating and so different to the mountains.  Our tour guide told us not to pay more than 15 dirhams for a taxi ride anywhere in Marrakech but we couldn't get any of them to take us anywhere for less than 25!  Some places in Marrakech accept Euros, so it's good to have some Euros with you.  The banks will sell dirhams for British sterling or Euros - it doesn't matter which.  I recommend this holiday for all the people who thought they couldn't do it!  It wouldn't be challenging enough for seasoned climbers though.

CYCLE CILENTO & AMALFI

Although I had previously visited this area I had never cycled here. This was a fabulous experience through some lovely countryside and dramatic coastal scenery. It was made even more enjoyable by the superb enthusiastic group!

DUBROVNIK & THE DALMATIAN COAST

A nice leisurely trip, with a group of like minded people. A good snapshot of the Dalmatian coast. Great scenery and good food.  No long travel days which is good on a short trip.
