KILIMANJARO CLIMB - RONGAI ROUTE

The Rainy season was the best time to go. Very few groups on the mountain. We had the Rongai route all to ourselves, and it didn't even rain. It was great to meet the porters beforehand and help out with english classes. We even had time for a game walk.

WALKING IN MADEIRA

One of the best and most surprising things about Madeira was the amazing variety of the walks - each day was different.  Windswept coasts, laurel and eucalyptus forests, waterfalls, open moorland, and of course the flower-lined levadas.  All lovely!

What can you say ? From the humidity of the rain forest to the heights of Machu Picchu ,where the altitude drains you, to the the beauty of Lake Titicaca which takes you breath away. An amazing experience that we have loved every minute of.Yes even 'Dead Woman's Pass' ! It is not for the faint hearted as it is a full on experience ,up at 5 most mornings. Fantastic  holiday in a beautiful country.

HIGHLIGHTS OF NORTHERN INDIA

On the whole the trip was Ok and I'm glad I went. I did feel that there was too much time spent on the bus though. The trip notes did say this but with cancelled trains and extra bus journeys it wasn't much of a break.I have been on two previous exodus trips but this one just didn't have the variety of the others.A bit disappointing.

MT TOUBKAL CLIMB

The 3-star hotel known as Hotel Hadna situated in the centre of Marrakech was our allotted accommodation on my initial first night of my Exodus journey to Mount Toubkal, entailing not only climbing and overseeing the Atlas Range , Mount Toubkal North Africa's highest mountain , I also enjoyed a 1-1 climb up Mount Hadj beforehand with my guide Mohammed  Moucha, which was a breaktaking descent up with him after a lovely afternoon lunch, apparently I was the first Exodos client to do Hadj (Optional) and it was very worthwhile, the views are spectacular, beyond beautiful, magnificant, breath-taking climb and a wacky time as our voices carried to the people below slumbering and chilling after a wonderfully prepared lunch.

AEGEAN COAST AND LAKES RIDE

Overall a very enjoyable holiday with some good rides and spectacular scenary, particularly  Lake Bafa and group of nice people who all got on well. But the route could be improved so that less time is spent on busy roads - we probably spent in the region of 30-40% of our time on what were really quite large, busy, fast roads (though the third day's cycling was cancelled due to fog of all things so I can't comment on that).

Exodus Response

This particular departure encountered some difficulties in the form of a number of roadworks, forcing a last minute change of route. These works are now finished and the trip will return to its original route, and so not need to cycle on some of the busier roads.

MARRAKECH & THE SAHARA

Morocco is a wonderful country where in May you can experinece life amongst the dunes in the Sahara desert and snow in the High Atlas.  As an added bonus the night sky is awe inspiring, we never realised the Milky Way could be so dramatic.

HIGH PASSES OF EVEREST

An absolutely incredible trip - but tough.  The views were superb and the High Passes trek gives you the opportunity to get off the well-beaten Everest base camp trek.

KAYAKING ON THE TURQUOISE COAST

Endless days of blue skies, sunshine and crystal clear waters - bliss!  The days we spent on the boat were easily the best part of the holiday, along with the delicious food.  There was plenty of time for relaxation - enough for me to finish a whole book!  A really enjoyable holiday.
