Fantabulous!

The trip was super excellent - the landscape serene, soothing and calming. The views are astoundingly spectacular, especially so when you get to the top of the majestic mountains - and there is no dearth of climbing opportunities on this trip. Some of these climbs were quite adventurous (remembering the zig zag path at the top of Tribulanhutte) where the incline is as high as nearly 65-70 degrees and the walking ledges quite narrow, but don't let the description unnerve you because you will love it once you have done it. The landscape is full oy colourful heather, snowcapped mountains, summer flowers of various hues, painterly huts, spiralling valleys, gently meandering river streams... All the elements to de stress you in the most natural way. The hotel we stayed in - Wienerhof, was very pleasant, clean and spacious. The food served on all the days was superlatively delicious. The staff is very welcoming and attentive to your needs. As with all group holidays, there are lot of socialising opportunities and since everyone is interested in walking, you have one common thing to start with all of them. :) Overall, I am fully satisfied with the trip and the fond memories will linger in my mind and heart for a long time to come.

Wonderful Week of Walking

Trins is located in a beautiful unspoilt valley a world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There are umpteen walks and trails located within metres of the door of the comfortable hotel which serves tea and cake upon your return! Perfect.

Trins 19-26 July 2012

Trins is located in a beautiful valley surrounded by stunning mountain scenery. For some reason Trins is off the main tourist trails and so walks in the forest and mountains were quiet and peaceful, apart from the gently murmuring conversation and tinkling laughter of the Exodus group. There were two grades of walks available each day, moderate and challenging. The leaders, Bob and Chris, gave a full summary of the walk routes, length, ascent, descent and any particular difficulties every evening after dinner to allow people to make a decision about the next day's walk.

Trekking in Trins, Austria

This was my first ever exodus experience so i didnt really know what to expect. Having experienced this thrilling adventure, all i can say is that it ticked all the boxes for me. The scenery was breathtakingly stunning, the friendly staff at Hotel Wienerhof made my stay very comfortable and provided us with tasty and substantial breakfasts and 4 course evening meals with plenty of choice. Our walks were at two levels, moderate and challenging. There is no need to worry that you wont be able to keep up, as our experienced leaders paced all the walks to suit everyone. Our two leaders were so thorough in organising all aspects of our trip. Their professionalism was second to none! I have been so impressed with my first exodus experience that i'm already thinking about next year's destination with Exodus!

Trins 12-19 July 2014

A very good walking programme in stunning scenery. Two grades gave plenty of scope for each person in the group to decide on the level they wanted to walk.

My first adventure

I booked this holiday and I was very nervous and anxious. But I came home with happy memories, inspired and feeling fit. The food was great, the company was motivating and views with beautiful scenery including beautiful meadows of alpine flowers.

Turns the Austrian Tyrol

A thoroughly enjoyable holiday that I would highly recommend especially hill and mountain walkers. Beautiful weather and country side made the trip exceptional. I would highly recommend this trip.

Terrific Trins

As veterans of many Exodus European Walking and Trekking Holidays since before the turn of the century, we were delighted to find a trip that equalled, indeed exceeded, many previous ones. Trins is a delightful village in a beautiful, unspoilt valley. The hotel Wienerhof was friendly and comfortable. The food was excellent, substantial breakfasts and delicious four course dinners, often with choice. Tea and cakes on return to the hotel each day were a bonus.

TRINS: THE AUSTRIAN TYROL

Not the most enjoyable Austrian hiking holiday I have had. The C  grade hikes were more like B grade hikes when compared to other Exodus C's I have been on. The hotel was situated on a busy road which for me as a light sleeper was a bit of a nightmare- noise and traffic fumes, however the food was excellent. I think there is a better selection of hotels further down the valley and this would also give customers a chance to go out to a other bars etc in the evening. This seems to be a somewhat 'out of date' trip that is a hangover from perhaps another company that has been integrated into Exodus.

Exodus Response

We would like to thank Irene for her review. We agree that the walks on this tour are at the easier end of the Challenging scale, but we are confident that overall the challenging walks are correctly graded. Many Exodus staff members have stayed at the Hotel Wienerhof in Trins and we have always found it to be a great property for our groups. It is located on the main street of this traditional Tyrolean village, so we realise that there can be some noise from the road or the sound of church bells, but we usually find that clients really enjoy their stay in this charming village.

TRINS: THE AUSTRIAN TYROL

A wonderful week's holiday from beginning to end. The scenery, walks, leaders, group, weather, hotel and food/wine/beer were all superb. I would thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone considering it next year. This was my sixth Exodus trip within the past six years and they are consistently of a very high standard.
