Trins the Austrian Tyrol

A Perfect Walking Holiday in the Alps

5
This was my first solo trip and my first with Exodus. I was very anxious about traveling alone for the first time, but my fears were quickly put at a ease. Bob and Chris were there waiting for us coming out of arrivals and in no time we were comfortably seated on our couch to beautiful Trins. I have not done mountain walking before, so the first day's moderate walk was a bit of a challenge! Each day's walk was different, allowing us to experience a variety of sublime Alpine views. The group was great. About half were solo like myself. Nearly everyone had travelled with Exodus before. I loved hearing about all of their travels. One person had been on 32 Exodus trips-been all over the world! Amazing!

Walking in the Tirol - Trins, Austria

This was a lovely holiday. The weather was superb, although I gather that we were very lucky in that respect! The scenery was breath-taking. The hotel was comfortable although the service at meals was rather slow at times. The talk by the mountain rescue representative and the evening watching the band were all welcome extras.

This was a really well planned holiday providing an outstanding range of walking for the experienced and less adventurous walker. Very good accommodation and the food more than matched our exersions.

Trins - The Austrian Tyrol

5
Five lovely walks in the Austrian Alps with scenery as you would imagine straight from the wild flower meadow scenes in the "Sound of Music"! Some quite tough walking for me (in my 60's) but quite manageable, and well worth it for the wonderful views. Lovely family run hotel with great food and a good atmosphere. Very caring, knowledgeable leaders, who explained the area's culture, history, flowers and physical geography and just want you to have the best holiday ever.

Trins the Austrian Tyrol

The Tyrol Mountains

5
A fantastic week of walk with wonderful scenery and very very quiet trekking routes. Lovely hotel to stay in with super views, great food and lots of it and excellent hospitality. If you're considering this trip then go for it! Great to have two groups available - moderate and challenging with leaders swapping each day.

Trins the Austrian Tyrol

Trins, Austria

Wonderful holiday in a beautiful part of Austria. Trins is a pretty little village with wonderful views. We were well looked after - the hotel was comfortable and the food very good (not to mention Hugo - the local aperitif of elderflower and prosecco). There were two levels of walk each day and the two leaders, Bob and Chris, ensured we chose the walk most suited to our capabilities. The real treat was the abundance of flowers in the upper reaches of the mountains, especially near the refuges at the top.

Walking in Trins, the Austrian Tyrol

Our walking group came to Trins to experience the breathtaking Austrian scenery and we were not disappointed. Chris and Bob, the two leaders, gave us plenty of opportunity to sample walks of differing levels and we all enjoyed the spectacular views and abundance of alpine flowers.

Trins is Terrific!

5
This was a first for me. I had never been to Europe before but since a cycling trip was taking me there it seemed a pity to not do more than spend one week. I scouted around, came across Exodus, the Trins trip fit timing and location, said there would be both challenging and moderate hikes, so on a whim I signed up. Maybe I should mention that I hate hills, both when cycling and hiking! As the date came neater I began to wonder What have I signed up for? I read the on line the reviews and thought Okay, I should be able to handle this, I hope. I not only handled it, I had a wonderful time. Yes, I chose the moderate hikes, but did do one challenging choice in order to do the balcony walk in Italy, (I was there, I had to do it!) and found that the distance was not all that challenging. Yes, the upgrades were demanding but my fellow hikers were wonderful, one saying, Sure, we all swear on the up climb, but once we are there, well, it does not seem that it was that difficult. The views were magnificent. The food at the huttes was delicious. In town, in Trins, the experience could not have been better. The Hotel Weinerhof was clean and comfortable, the staff fun and friendly and the food excellent, we all especially enjoyed the 4 o'clock tea time. The friendly townspeople, the extras (the band concert and the mountain rescue presentation) added another very enjoyable dimension to the trip. All in all, an adventure that I am very pleased I took.
