This was a fantastic trip but quite tiring. This was my first Exodus trip and I was duly impressed. I will recommend the company to my friends and will certainly book another myself - North India Explored.

All in all a great holiday, you don't realise just how big India is, lots of temples but all are different, make sure you take a sun hat as it gets really hot. and the food is just excellent such a good selection of dishes even if you are not keen on spicy food we never got fed up. the people are friendly and polite, but as our tour leader said just above relaxation is your holiday, tour bus was excellent with lots of room and air con.

Such a long journey

This trip covers a lot of South India but this unavoidably means that you spend an awfully long time on the road. The published Exodus itinerary doesn't disguise this and the travel times it provides are about right but it's one thing to read that a day's journey takes 8-10 hours and another to actually endure it. That said you see many of the important cities, temples, hill stations, beaches and wildlife sites. Hotels are a bit variable; some pretty good, others not. With one outstanding exception local guides were quite poor, able only to recite a script. Shopping opportunities were contrived too frequently and I got thoroughly fed up with them.

Brilliant South India Explored

5
A brilliant trip encompassing a large portion of Southern India over three weeks. Lots to see and enjoy- the people, the culture, the history, the wildlife and of course the traffic- no one overtakes in silence!.

Southern India Explored 31.1.16 - 19.2.16

Overall very good - hotels, many of the sights, all the boats, the food, the landscape sights along the road. The company of the group stood the test of three weeks well. The guide, driver and bus 'manager' were great. It must be difficult to plan the driving, but, personally, I would have liked to be IN a place at the cooler times of early morning and evening, and on the bus/train during the hottest times, which are such hard work, even at the gentler time of Jan-Feb.

The whole trip was well planned by the Exodus Team and although there was a lot of travelling the itinerary was so varied that I always looked forward to the next interesting and exciting day

Inimitable India

India really is different. It's unlike many other Asian destinations. You'll be welcomed by everyone with people constantly wanting to have their picture taken with you. This South Indian tour took in such a variety of sites and activities. It wasn't just about temples but they were fantastic too. Highlights included a rickshaw ride, safari, tea plantations and wonderful scenery. The hospitality, as far as hotels and food was concerned, was better than we expected on this 'Standard Tour'. The only disappointment was the problem India has with litter though even this seems to add to the character of the country.

Southern India Explored - Incredible!

5
A fantastic first venture into India - all the sounds, sights and smells you can imagine (mostly good and a few bad!). There is a lot of travelling, but the small coach was comfortable and plenty of room. (24 seater for 16 plus guide). There are plenty of temples, palaces and shrines but also views of everday life for the locals. It is much greener than I expected - acres of paddy fields, miles of coconut trees and hillsides of tea - all very green and so well tended. The new trip to the bird sanctuary was great as we had a bonus view of paddy fields in all stages of growing. there were men making bundles of rice seedlings from the seed beds, others taking the bundles to the fields for the ladies to plant. There was a pair of oxen flattening the mud ready for planting and more workers spreading the fields with fertilizer. Best photo opportunity you could hope for of this. Bird wise, we saw thousands of nesting birds - pelicans, painted storks, open billed storks grey herons, pond herons and I think purple herons. Right at the end of the visit a guide showed us a pair of small owls well camouflaged in a tree. We were welcomed by the locals everywhere we went, to the extent that they wanted our photo as much as we wanted theirs!
