NORTH INDIA EXPLORED

A wonderful 3 weeks experiencing in-depth the history, religion, and way of life in India today. We chose this trip because the itinerary includes Varanasi as well as the Taj Mahal and highlights of Rajasthan. We had a stunning variety of experiences during the 4000 km of travel.

NORTH INDIA EXPLORED

Good trip covering lots of places in North India-lots of forts and temples with a bit of wildlife. Good way to see a lot of different places in a relatively short time

NORTH INDIA EXPLORED

As a whole I liked this trip: complete, well organised but there were a few things that made it not excellent as I had hoped and looked forward to. This was the poor cleanliness of the hotels: I can say they were acceptable but you do not have to look to much (corners, bathroom, armchairs, paint, switches where your fingers could stick, etc.). Great halls but the rooms did not match the outside appareance! Also, I was shocked by the huge amount of litter and dirt on the streets: never seen that anywhere else in the word and... I have travelled a lot... Other people in my group shared the same idea. The rest I knew = the poorness and the noice. I could cope with the poorness but the noice was sometimes unbereable! They blow their hoorns non-stop: it is they way of driving...! And the drive like mad! Crossing the road and arriving at the other end save is a real challenge! The palaces, forts and temples were a real pleasure for the eyes and senses but I find we visited them to quickly. Visiting such huge places in just 1 or 1,30 hours is too quick: I had the impression to be a Japanese rushing to visit as much as possible and just having time to take picture to be able to finally enjoy the trip at home... But it is true that I am not used to organized trips and maybe they are all like that... A pity because I had no time to really feel the place and fix it to my memory and senses and God knows that these places are worth visiting in a more relaxed manner so beautiful they are!

NORTH INDIA EXPLORED

This was a lovely introduction to northern India. Our guide was knowledgeable and always had time to answer questions or take us to restaurants or even the cinema (a must do experience in India). We were if course disappointed not to see tigers on our trip to the national park. I would in the end have preferred to skip this entirely in exchange for more guaranteed experiences. On the whole a really god trip that I we remember fondly.

DELHI TO MUMBAI

THIS WAS THE FIRST OF THIS TRIP. It was a pilot study which needs some small adjustments. Further time was needed at Jodphur. We also spent far too much time in an uncomfortable rickety bus even by Indian standards. I say this after experience of other Exodus trips in India. There were also too many organised shopping experiences. This group who loved shopping were saturated. The chance to eat at road side stops was good as the food was very cheap and well cooked. Generally an excellent trip but the choice of extending the tour of Rajastan to Gujurat needs rethinking where I believe that we misssed important cultural aspects such as the textiles. Both museums were closed in Ahmedabad on a Wednesday. This was shear bad planning. Meanwhiole friends tell me that we didn't see many important textile experiences elsewhere.
